Hi, we’re Muttering, a 3-piece alternative rock band from London.

It’s with great excitement that we share with you our debut album ‘Great.’. It’s out through Beth Shalom Records 09-09-22.

We hope you enjoy.

mutteringband@gmail.com if you’d like to chat.

The main underlying theme of ‘Great.’ is the shortcomings of this ‘great’ nation and our continued failure to demonstrate compassion and understanding.

The ten new songs explore new territories for the band, getting more poppy, more angular and more direct, whilst maintaining the same timeless indie rock/emo influences that made the debut EP ‘Don’t Think About It’ feel so new and yet so familiar.

The record follows the ‘Soap Box EP’, released March 2022, and the covers EP ‘Muttering At the Altar Vol.1’, released June 2022.

All of Muttering’s material was produced, recorded and mixed by the band’s guitarist Tom Hill at his studio The Bookhouse in SE London and was mastered by Dan Coutant at Sun Room Mastering.

Muttering At The Altar Vol.I is our first covers EP, featuring four of our favourite songs - 'Chinese Satellite' by Phoebe Bridgers, 'With or Without You' by U2, 'A New England' by Billy Bragg and 'Monkey Gone to Heaven' by Pixies.

The video for ‘Chinese Satellite’ features the actual full performance of singer Chaz Bush singing and playing acoustic, that is at the centre of the recording.

This is the first instalment of many planned covers EPs.

‘Soap Box’ is an EP of originals we released digitally in March 2022, alongside a run of UK gigs with Oversize. The EP is centred around the album opener ‘Soap Box’ with two extra songs that aren’t on the LP, ‘Over Protective’, a short acoustic track, and ‘Perfectly Placed Advertisement’.

Thanks for checking this out.

We have gigs being booked throughout 2022, and would love to play more.

We would love to grow to have the Muttering family extend throughout Europe and the US. If you’d like to work with us in some capacity, please get in touch.
